Baileigh Pneumatic H-Frame Shop Press HSP-50A — 50 Ton, 28.5″ Working Width

Overview

The 50-ton upright is the most common H-frame press in fabrication and machine shops, and the HSP-50A is Baileigh’s take on it. Fifty tons of pressing force across a 28.5-inch working width handles bearing work, straightening, forming, bushing installation, and assembly pressing without complaint.

The frame is the reason it’s worth the money. Fully welded heavy-duty steel means you can use all fifty tons regularly without the machine flexing under load — a press that deflects at capacity is a press you can only run at half capacity.

Two ways to drive it, which is what “air/hand operated” means. The air-powered foot pedal gives hands-free control for repetitive pressing, so both hands stay on the workpiece. The manual hand pump on the side takes over when you need fine control for delicate applications — pressing a bearing that has to seat square, or creeping up on a bend without overshooting.

A 6-inch diameter cylinder with 7.8 inches of stroke does the work, and a winch and pulley system raises and lowers the bed so relocating the table doesn’t mean lifting steel plate by hand. The pressure gauge tells you the actual force applied instead of leaving you to guess. V-blocks come standard.

Ordering and freight

Ships by LTL freight at 770 lb. Freight deliveries are tailgate — the driver brings the shipment to the rear of the trailer but does not unload. Liftgate service is available if you don’t have a dock or forklift. Send us your delivery ZIP and dock situation and we will have a freight quote back to you the same day.

Shop air required: this is a pneumatic press, so you’ll need a compressor on the line. The manual hand pump works without air if your compressor is down or out of reach, which is a useful fallback rather than a substitute.
