Overview

Dake has been building horizontal band saws since 1941, and their heavy double-frame construction is the reason these machines outlast the shops that buy them. The SE-810 is their dual-mitering semi-automatic — the saw for a fabrication shop that cuts angles all day and needs each one to land where the gauge says it will.

Dual mitering is the headline. The head swivels on bearings left or right for accurate angle cutting, and the stock stays in one position for every cut. On a single-miter saw you reposition material for opposite angles and accumulate error doing it; here you set the head and the workpiece never moves.

The drive is beltless. A high-torque DC motor turns a gear reducer directly — no belts, no pulleys, nothing to slip or replace. Speed adjusts on the fly from 65 to 250 feet per minute with a digital tachometer showing exactly where you are, so you can slow down for stainless mid-job without stopping.

Capacity is real: 10 inches of solid round at 90 degrees, 8 by 10 inches on flats. Semi-automatic down feed meters the blade at a controlled rate rather than dropping it. And the whole machine converts to vertical cutting and rolls on four casters, so it moves to the work instead of the other way around.
